On August 16, 2018, the 18th annual meeting of Pesticide Professional Committee of the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China, hosted by Pesticide Professional Committee of the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China, National General Pesticide Information Station, Shenyang Sinochem Agrochemicals R&D Co., Ltd. and State Key Laboratory of the Discovery and Development of Novel Pesticide, organized by Chemistry and Chemical Industry Society of Guangxi, was held grandly in Nanning, Guangxi. This meeting, themed by “inheriting, innovation, transcending”, discussed about the frontier problems around discovery of green new pesticide and governance of resistant weeds, etc.

The opening ceremony of the meeting was hosted by Li Zhonghua, Secretary General of China Crop Protection Industry Association. Hua Wei, the Vice Chairman and Secretary General of Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China, Liang Chunhua, Vice Chairman of Guangxi Association for Science and Technology, Huang Shangshun, Secretary, Dean of the Party Committee of Guangxi Research Institute of Chemical Industry, Secretary of Chemistry and Chemical Industry Society of Guangxi and Liu Changling, Chairman of Pesticide Professional Committee, Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.

Pesticide Professional Committee of the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China specially sets up “Special Contribution Award for Pesticide Discipline”. Professor Li Zongcheng won “Special Contribution Award for Pesticide Discipline”, and Professor Xu Zhenyuan won “Special Contribution Award for Pesticide Discipline” (receiving the prize by proxy of Professor Du Xiaohua).

The Academician Shen Yinchu attended the meeting and delivered a keynote speech Discovery of Novel Pesticide Based on Active Substance of Biological Source.

The Academician Song Bao’an presented wonderful share about current situation and progress of pesticide in China, development trend and existing problem of pesticide industry, green strategic study and progress of pesticide in China, etc.

Xi Zhen, the Professor of Nankai University, delivered a keynote speech Gene Pesticide Technology.

The Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs delivered a keynote speech Strengthening Pesticide Management, Ensuring Safety of Agricultural Products.

Liu Changling the Professor of Shenyang Sinochem Agrochemicals R&D Co., Ltd. profoundly analyzed and summarized the typical cases of intermediate derivatization method from the view of intellectual property.

Professor Qin, Zhaohai of China Agricultural University, Professor Wu Wenjun of Northwest A&F University, Professor Zhang Lixin of Shenyang University of Chemical Technology, Professor Liu Ducai of Hunan Research Institute of Plant Protection, Doctor Zhang Shuai of National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center, etc. delivered wonderful speeches for collision of ideas and exchange of intelligence.

At the annual meeting, excellent papers of the magazine Pesticide and excellent papers of “Syngenta Cup” in 2016-2017 were awarded.

This meeting was an academic conference with high specification and high level in Chinese pesticide field, and over 300 relevant experts, scholars, pesticide enterprise representatives and media representatives from the pesticide field, combining the current development status of the pesticide industry and adjustment of agricultural structure, combed the trend of industry development, presented high-level research achievements at home and abroad, explained national policies in detail, jointly discussed and exchanged the innovation update strategy of the pesticide field, which is of great significance to promote innovation development of green pesticide industry in China.
